The Fighter: I’ve been avoiding this one because I’m not so keen on the boxing movies. But the powerhouse cast (ok, maybe excluding Wahlberg) has swayed me – and now that it’s out on DVD, it’s time. How can I pass up a chance to see Bale acting nusto and Amy Adams being trashy? I mean, seriously. (Oh yeah, and there’s all that Oscar cred too).

Skyline: Why am I telling you to see a Sci-Fi movie that almost everyone hated? Well, mostly because I sympathize for the producers of the thing. After getting slammed by pro critics and internet trolls worldwide, they responded to the critiscism intelligently, explaining that they know it’s not a perfect film, but what they were after was entertainment and fun. I get that, guys. And I’ll totally see your movie becuase instead of being all “OUR FILMS RULZZZ YOU SUCK”, you calmy pointed out what you felt the critics got wrong, and what they got right. Also, I have kind of an inexplainable crush on Eric Balfour.
