The White House is currently hoping and praying that someone will apply for the post of War Czar. This position, "would address concerns over coordinating the U.S. government's civilian and military work in Iraq and Afghanistan." Sounds like a smashing opportunity!
Yet word on the street is that Bush wasn't planning to announce the newly created position until he had someone tapped to fill it… but that at least three generals the White House has approached with the position have resoundingly just said HELLS NO TO WAR CZAR. Whoops.
Perhaps they should let this new War Czar telecommute a few days a week, or let them communte during alternative hours (perhaps 11-7 instead of the ole 9-5)? That always seems to make it easier to find willing candidates in places where I've worked!
