Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

I started ranting about Versatile Heart from Linda Thompson here on TIG a couple of weeks ago. This is truly a gorgeous record that was co-produced by and features her son, Teddy Thompson. It also features a track written for her by Rufus Wainwright. This release coupled with Peggi Young's (Neil's wife) latest has been my Sunday Morning Read The Papers soundtrack for weeks now!

Danbert Nobacon is the guy from Chumbawumba and he has paired up with the Legendary Pine Valley Cosmonauts. What?!?!? I was confused when I heard it was coming out and after listening to it, I still don't understand.

I hadn't heard anything about "The OST, The Hottest State" movie or soundtrack, but it has some pretty amazing players on it for sure! I mean Cat Power, Bright Eyes, AND Emmylou Harris?!?!?! It must be good.

Also piquing my interest is Floratone, which features some AMAZING local talent.

My winner of the week is Junior Senior. I love those good time boys and with a title like Hey Hey My My Yo Yo and great catchy songs, it's wiggling onto my summertime fun playlist.
