Photo Amazingness! TIG’s 20th Anniversary Show with The Divorce, Slender Means, and Boyfren
Oh what a(n imaginary) night!
Seeing some of our favorite bands, performing at a venue full of wonderful-TIG-memories, surrounded by a community of people we adore and who amaze us – it was a perfect way to celebrate 20 years of Three Imaginary Girls {more about us and our 20th anniversary}. September 16, 2022 – you are a date that will live in our hearts forever!
We *still* can’t believe that the night included a reforming of two bands that made our 2000s rock and soar with so many great shows and great songs. The Divorce and Slender Means were better than ever and we can’t wait to see them again – anytime, anywhere. {And if you forgot to pick up the limited edition very pretty colored vinyl records by Slender Means and/or The Divorce at the show – you can find them here!!!}
Boyfren! This was only the band’s second show ever and they brought the house down with their swagger and charm.
We are honored to have had photographer extraordinaire Alley Rutzel join us and capture all the magic!
But, before I share some of Alley’s amazing photos and we get lost all over again in the marvelous of the night – it is imperative that I share some big thank yous:
- ••• To our friends at Latent Print Records, the bands {The Divorce, Slender Means, Boyfren}, and the Tractor Tavern – all of you put so much heart (and work and time) into making the night a smashing success and hella big fun – and we can’t thank you enough.
- ••• Thank you to everyone who came out to the show – you showed up in more ways than one.
- ••• And thanks to everyone who sent us kind words, happy vibes, high fives over the last few weeks (and over the last 20 years!) to mark the occasion. There aren’t enough emojis in the world to tell you how much all that means to us.
Boyfren
We have loved each of the Boyfren band members in all their previous bands {The Catch, U.S.E., Bardot, People Eating People, Mon Frere, The Lashes, Waxwing, Gatsbys American Dream, Bugs In Amber}. Having them all in one place, performing together? O M G. Yes, please.
Slender Means
The Slender Means set was a dreamy as we imagined it would be. They played so many songs we love to sway and sing along to… and they covered “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears for Fears.

The Divorce
It has been far. too. long. since we’ve rocked out to the bold, meticulous, beautifully loud, and wonderfully cathartic songs of The Divorce. I will never *not* want to hear “Redcoats” on repeat, all the time.
