Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

It sure is a gorgeous Monday! How else are you going to celebrate that, than with a rad show at the Sunset?

I was introduced to Dreamdate, known as "East Bay pop sensations" by friends a few weeks ago, and found them to be perfectly up my alley, with two female singers harmonizing and a laid back poppy/punky beat. They seem straight out of the mid-90's, and that makes me very happy.

Here's a video of their song "How Long Are You?"

Also playing are Ireland's So Cow, who I don't know much about, but this recent video from a NY show says that if you like the shambolic pop punk revolution (bands that sound like Television Personalities popping up all over the place), you'll love So Cow.

Here's a song called "To Do List" that's pretty cute.

Headlining are locals Coconut Coolouts, who seriously know how to throw a good party (I haven't seen them in a while, but last time I saw them pretty much all of their songs were named after dance moves, and then there was my favorite "Please Don't Break Me Out of Party Jail". Opening are locals Sandy City, who have their tape release tonight. Expect four part harmonies about surfing.

See you there! Show at 9.
