Last year's Pride celebration was the best Seattle ever had, but there's still tons of room for improvement, some of which appears to be happening this year. Seattle Pride 2007 will feature a repeat of last year's downtown route ending at Seattle Center, but with (theoretically) better talent and a cash prize for floats so that they aren't so goddamn lame.

ANNOUNCING ’07 PRIDE EVENTS
Seattle – Things are coming together fantastically for Seattle Pride 2007 which happens on Sunday June 24th, with the Seattle Pride March on 4th Avenue in the heart of downtown Seattle, and the Seattle Pride Festival at Seattle Center – Seattle's biggest and best celebration of the summer!
We have confirmed several important and exciting community partnerships including a great partnership with The Seattle LGBT Community Center, MPowerment (Lifelong AIDS Alliance’s Youth Outreach program), Girl4GIRL promotions, and several Capitol Hill bars. We're receiving tremendous interest from both the local and national business communities. To date 2007 Seattle Pride sponsors include: Pacific Medical Center, Naked Juice, Leaf Filter NW, Tylenol PM, Lovers Package, and The Leavitt Companies. We are also working on partnerships with several hotels, with Hotel Vintage Park, The Alexis Hotel, and Hotel Monaco already signed up. Dozens of other negotiations are on-going and we expect more exciting announcements next week. For information regarding corporate sponsorships contact Cindy Baccetti 425.221.3374 or cindy@cindybaccetti.
Several national performers are already confirmed with many more to be announced. Confirmed so far are God-des and She (who you've heard on the the L Word and Logo), Kim Kuzma, Danille Bollinger, Kristi Kay and DJ Joe Bermudez. We're partnering with The Rat City Rollergirls to present their "Big Gay Bout at Seattle Pride" at Key Arena featuring Derby Liberation Front vs. Grave Danger, and the Throttle Rockets vs. our visiting team the Denver Roller Dolls, with 10% of ticket sales going to support Lambert House. And of course you'll be able to get wet at the Fountain Dance Party – the best all wet dance party ever!
The Seattle Pride March on 4th Avenue into Seattle Center will be shortened a little this year, running for a concise 2.5 hours and focused on being tighter with stronger, more creative entries. Highlighting this effort is The Pride Float contest – The Stranger's Seattle Pride Parade Awards – Best in Show with $5,000 in cash prizes for the most creative and well produced entrants to be judged by a panel of community celebrities.
Pride March & vendor booth registration will be taken online this year, and will be available very soon. Registration was delayed this year due to a move to a new secure application system to protect your personal information.
Join us for “Come Together” Family Style; a fundraising dinner for Seattle Pride at Buca di Beppo on Thursday, April 19th, 5:00 pm. Dinner is $30.00 per person and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Seattle Pride. Special guest performance by Seattle area cabaret artist and musician Jacob Mahoney.
So save the date and get to work on those floats!
