Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Ready for a blog post of funny statements made based on sassy band names? Here we go…

Thanks to the Pains of Being Pure at Heart for sending me to the MySpace page For Ex-Lovers Only!

Their songs have that bedroom pop naivity I dig, and the swagger of early Jam. The demos on their MySpace page also have a very humble lo lo lo-fi production quality… but their talent gleams through the slightly over-explosed tings. It adds warmth and authenticity — but still has me on the lookout for their first proper release.

And, while you're clicking through MySpace… listen to the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. They were quite a high point when I saw them at the recent Athens PopFest.
