This just in! Nabil Ayers and John Roderick of the Long Winters will DJ an all-grunge, all-vinyl set this coming Wednesday night at Linda's (707 E. Pine on Capitol Hill), from 9pm -12 midnight.
They'll be spinning hits and misses from the late '80s and early 90's. And the best part? It's free (21+) and it's supposed to be nice outside — so get there early to score a seat on the supreme patio.
I can't think of a more perfect way to celebrate the middle of the week, and anticipate the surely grunge-filled weekend at the upcoming Sub Pop 20.
My picks for the set:
Mudhoney: Sweet Young Thing Ain't Sweet No More
Pearl Jam: Porch
Alice in Chains: Would
Mad Season: River of Deceit
Screaming Trees: Shadow of the Season
Mother Love Bone: Chloe/Crown of Thorns (I know this doesn't really constitute "grunge" to the truest definition. Just consider it "inspired by.")
Soundgarden: Heretic
Green River: 10,000 Things
Hell, let's actually just hear the whole "Deep Six" comp.
What's on your list of requests?
