Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

PalodineYou never need to twist my arm to go to the Triple Door, a venue as elegant as the food (from Wild Ginger) is delicious. The venue feels like a complete throwback to the speakeasy days, when drinking was a naughty thing and a night on the town to hear music was an event, not a ho-hum activity. Tonight's lineup will only add to the sumptuousness of it all with three acts who all lean toward the dark Americana side of the musical spectrum.

Seattle band Palodine, who open the show, will especially thrill fans of Gillian Welch or Jesse Sykes or even Low with their lush-voice female vocalist and gothic, sparse alt-country flavor.

And to prepare for the show: read this smashing interview with Robert Fisher of the Willard Grant Conspiracy.
