A little EP in 2002 started it off. Sascha Ring (aka Apparat) and Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (aka Modeselektor) recorded an EP for BPitch Control. It was well received, but when it came grind time for an album, Moderat (conglomeration of the two band's names, obviously) split.
Modeselektor went on to rule the German electronica world with his breakout album Happy Birthday! and Apparat worked with the rawrsome Ellen Allien on Orchestra of Bubbles, and then put put '07's Walls.
Basically, Moderat rules. And they will be at Neumos tonight with Truckasaurus and Nordic Soul. They will hit heavy and bring it hard, German style. Eins zwei! Eins zwei!
