When writing these show previews, I try to stick with at least two rules: refrain from writing about bands I have a friend in and refrain from previewing shows that are likely to sell out without any help from me. Tonight, I'm violating both of those self-imposed regulations.
USE, or United State of Electronica, are playing their first show of 2009, and to my knowledge their first Seattle show since the Capitol Hill Block Party last summer. It's going to be a hot, sweaty dance party inside of the new Crocodile with USE bringing their dancefloor-ready hits to Belltown tonight. They are finishing up their forthcoming sophomore album, L O V E W O R L D, and will be playing songs from it.
There will also be a limited edition EP available for sale only at this show and one of those songs, "All the World" is available to download here. It sounds like a USE song: vocodor harmonies, dancy 4/4 beat, heavy synthesizers and a funky bassline.
USE plays with Vellela Vellela and Strength, 21+, $12.
What have you got goin' on tonight?
