Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Looks like some great shows tonight: Mike Ness at the Showbox, the Skatalites at Nectar, just for a couple of examples — but I plan to see my favorite quasi-Marxist shambolic-sexy post-punks Biography of Ferns at the Comet. (8 PM, $5)

I have reviewed a lot of records this year, but their collection of sides from their original run of band members Pastel Gothic {review} was one of those discs I would play over and over in my own sweet time. Just could not get enough. And tonight will be a total thrill as I get to see their new rhythm section, Larry and Stormi, playing out with singer-songwriter Justin for the first time. (Note: those two were the bass and drums respectively for the incredible previous project by Billy Bullock, Shorthand for Epic. Very unfortunate they left my genius hero visionary Billy but at least they picked another great fella to play with.)

Seattle bands Hungry Pines, X-ray Press, and Paper Airplanes round out the bill.

See you there?
