Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

To which I answer: who the fuck doesn't?

Thursday night at The Sunset celebrates the release of the latest installment of Levi Fuller's excellent, quarterly Ball of Wax series. He explains all the motherfucking details:

It is time yet again to celebrate the release of yet another volume of Ball of Wax Audio Quarterly.  This one is a little bit special, though:  When George Carlin passed away recently, I thought it would be a nice, if small (very, very, teeny tinily infinitesimal) tribute to the satirical genius who brought us The Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" (that's shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker and tits, for those of you keeping score at home) if I could have a whole volume of Ball of Wax full of songs containing those and other inappropriate words.

Amazingly, I got a wonderful response, including some songs that people already had at the ready and some written and recorded just for me (Meyercord's "Shit on My Heart" is a favorite, featuring all seven words plus a couple).  The new volume of Ball of Wax contains fifteen FCC-inappropriate tracks, ranging from a tossed off "fuck" here and there to a full on dirty-ass rap or two.  Not for sensitive ears, this one.

And yes!  We are celebrating its release in high style, as always!

You should definitely go to this show because it's not like you're going to be hearing any of these songs on the radio anytime soon.

Just because, here's George Carlin doing his "7 Dirty Words" routine. I had to rewatch it because I forgot why both "fuck" and "motherfucker" are on the list.

(By promoting local indie rock I just made TIG NSFW.)
