Three Imaginary Girls

Idlewild and Allo Darlin and Crafts

Join us Sunday, October 17th at Neptune Coffee {in Greenwood} for the  October edition of the Imaginary Crafternoon Listening Party from 1pm-3pm. For this month’s Imaginary Crafternoon Listening Party we’re going to combine a couple of our favorite British groups (one English and one Scottish) and one of our favorite crafts (screen-printing)!

Our friends at Neptune are going to set up a screen-printing station with three ready-to-go screen designs to choose from. You bring your ready-to-print-on items (shirts, hoodies, paper, canvas bag, etc) and they’ll show us how it’s done. By the end of the Crafternoon, we’ll all have our items delightfully upgraded with a snazzy screenprint.  To partake, there’s a wee $5 materials fee to cover the cost of the screens, ink, and clean up (payable at the event).   You don’t have to partake in the screen-printing tutorial, bring your own knitting needles, papercraft, or current craft project and join us for fabulous crafty conversations and good times!

While we’re busy a craftin’ we’ll listen to two of our favorite imaginary releases as of late: Allo Darlin’s self titled album and Idlewild’s Post Electric Blues.

As we’ve exclaimed many times, we can’t get enough of the debut album by Allo Darlin’. The album releases on Fortuna Pop! on October 5 (it released elsewhere earlier this year) and has gotten rave reviews from all over who adore the scent of Heavenly jangle on each wonderful song. We are beyond ecstatic to present Allo Darlin’ at their first Seattle show on Friday, October 29 at the Rendezvous. Tickets are close to being sold out and you can buy them at Brown Paper Tickets.

The newest Idlewild album already has a complex history. Post Electric Blues is the sixth full-length studio album by Scottish indie rock band and it was originally self-released to around 3000 fans in June 2009. In October of that year it had a UK release on Cooking Vinyl and this year, on October 12, it will be released in the U.S. To celebrate the U.S. release, Idlewild will be at the Crocodile on November 20, 2010.

There is an amazing array of indie rock shows to see this month and having a freshly crafted fashion item will be the perfect item to don in the front row.

See you Sunday, October 17th!
