Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Check out the best headline I've possibly ever seen, brought to us by the amazing Tiny Mix Tapes:

Is that Santorum in your mouth or are you just happy that bands like Dinosaur Jr., The Rapture, and Man Man are playing Urban Outfitters in-store concerts?

The article is fantastic too, detailing the exciting news that Urban Outfitters and Toyota Yaris are sponsoring a load of great (and free, and all-ages) shows at Urban Outfitters stores in the coming weeks (the debut one is tonight, with the Klaxons in Chicago). These shows all benefit community radio stations — which is good! — but the author notes that they're still being promoted by a company that has supported lots of creepy retail and political practices (including funding former Republican senator Rick Santorum in his failed re-election campaign). Aside to David Nadelle: I totally feel your elation and your pain, and I admire your eloquence. My only criticism: you missed a good zinger! Instead of "Tire chains from the Long Winters," why not go for "Car Parts from the Long Winters" ("I didn’t have the money or I would have gotten roses")?

The bands are impressive, the beneficiaries are worthy, and the dates are here…
