CultureMob is reporting a last minute addition to Neumos' show calendar, featuring The Cave Singers and, oddly, Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire.

No, it's okay. I'll wait while you read that sentence again.

From CultureMob's blog:

Matador Records recording artists CAVE SINGERS serenade Governor Gregoire with special guests: Telekinesis! and Toy Gun at Neumos on Capitol Hill.

Governor Christine Gregoire
That’s right friends, the Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire will be appearing in the Flesh at Neumos this Friday! I’ll be there for sure, if only to watch the look on her face as she gets serenaded by the Cave Singers. Let’s hope no one spoils the event because it’s too loud and crazy!

Tickets are $15 in advance; Doors at 8PM

Why is Governor Gregoire attending the show? Is it part of a political agenda to gauge the young Capitol Hill audience's interest in a soon-to-be proposed Hipster Tax? Have The Cave Singers accepted public office, possibly Secretary of Indie Rock? Or is Gregoire just a huge fan and wants to check out the drink specials?

My weak Google-fu turned up nothing, and a phone call placed to the Neumos event line determined only that Neumos needs to empty their voice mailbox. It looks like the only way to solve this mystery is to go to the show Friday night. Any takers?
