The ThrushesI recently came upon Thrushes, a Baltimore quartet that blends the Jesus and Mary Chain reverb and lo-fi noise-pop of the Swirlies.

They released their debut album, some come undone, in March 2007 and since then they've been featured on their local best of lists and are even slotted to open for the Raveonettes on March 28, 2008 at The Ottobar (in Baltimore), a perfect line-up pairing.

Their song "heartbeats"–with it's textbook shoegazer guitars, atmospheric female vocals, and sparkling drum/symbol crashes–makes me swirl with giddiness. Here's a video for it. Oh glory be to the grainy black and white film…
