For all of us who need to somehow justify why we would eat a slice of Pizza Hut pizza over the fancier pizzeria offerings in the market, today is the day in which no excuse is needed! Pizza Hut® announced May 1st is "Free Slice of Pizza Day!"

This PR push is accompanied by a big long story about why they are doing it (something about a contest winner and an honorary VP of pizza) — but it comes down to the fact they are trying to get folks to try a slice of their "New and Improved Hand-Tossed Style Pizza." You had me at free pizza.

The free slices will be given away at participating Pizza Hut locations today (Tuesday, May 1) from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

It's no free cone day, but really, what is?
