Menomena singer and drummer Danny Seim has a longstanding side project called Lackthereof. Menomena's label Barsuk Records announced yesterday that they'd be releasing the Lackthereof record, entitled Your Anchor, this July.

Can't wait till then to hear the project? Lucky for you, Lackthereof's MySpace profile has loads of tracks available for your listening pleasure.  

I'm having a listen now, and I'm still on the fence. It's definitely more subdued and folky, and less quirky and intricate than Menomena.

I need to spend a bit more time with this one before I come to my final imaginary answer.
