Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

TEAM GINA! They have a new record, they rule, and they are gonna be part of the sure-to-go-down-in-history "Exile In {Imaginary} Girlville" TIG Anniversary Party! Wa-hoo!

Katy Perry has the media a-buzz. Her new record One Of The Boys is out today, featuring the single "I Kissed a Girl" (not to be confused with the classic Jill Sobule anthem). I haven't heard any of the record, except for the single, but folks seem to be into her.

Coldplay releases Viva La Vida today. I never have really gotten Coldplay, and I hate Gwenyth Paltrow. But I like how Chris Martin has been aloof and disinterested in promoting the new record (even walking out of radio interviews because he was "bored"). All that said, the tracks I've heard are not bad at all.

I really liked My Brightest Diamonds last record, today they release A Thousand Sharks Teeth which I think is a great title. Anyone hear any of this new record yet?

And Sub Pop continues to rule the school with the release of Wolf Parade's At Mount Zoomer. I can't wait to see them play the new songs at Sub Pop's 20th Anniversary Showdown at Marymoor Park on Sunday the 13th of July.

Here is some more releases for today, if I left someone out, chime in and tell us about it!
