Hello dear February and all that you’ve brought with you this week!
Political things are kicking up and getting real with all kinds of insanity and importance. Have you caucused before? I remember the first caucus I went to back in 2004. Thank goodness I had the guide that our pal Lawrence put together for us back then. I’m hoping he’ll put one together for us this year as well so that we can all be mentally (and emotionally) prepared for Washington state’s big day (Saturday, March 26, 2016).
My favorite webby things of the week
In case you missed it when we shared these items on twitter/facebook, I give a high-five with my mouse to these neat things:
- Get an eyeful of spinning beautiful colored vinyl. Colored vinyl makes me weak in the knees, so these animated gifs are like cute kitty videos for me.
- Star Wars posters in the style of WPA posters! One of each, please.
- Someone snuck this infamous video of a live performance of Purple Rain up on the internet and it concisely illustrates why Prince is a genius. You should watch it soon because even though it shows what his amazingness, his lawyers usually end up getting it deleted. (hat tip hearts: Pete H!)
In High Rotation this week
S covered Tacocat’s “Crimson Wave.” Hooray for this pairing of Seattle awesome!

“Eloquence” by The Echolarks (which features eaturing Davey Ingersoll former frontman for Loudermilk/Gosling). They’ll be at the Tractor Tavern on Thursday, Feb 11 with Timbre Barons and Ghost Pains Music.

Mark Your Calendars!
In other imaginary news, I recently poured over some current events posts and realized there are all kinds of amazing things coming to Seattle this month. Apologies that we are still working on getting our imaginary website calendars up and going.
In the meantime, here’s a list of some of the super amazing things I wanted to make sure you knew about. I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it to any of these, so report back on your fun if you make it out on the town in my absence:
Saturday, Feb 6 – Super Furry Animals / Dead Meadow at the Neptune
Sunday, Feb 7 – Tommy Keene / Eyelids / Zebra Hunt at the Sunset Tavern
Monday Feb 8 – Pussy Riot: Feminist Punk and the Police State Music at the Neptune
Saturday, Feb 13 – Dancing on the Valentine at Neumos
Thursday, Feb 18 – Jeanine Garofalo will be at the Crocodile! The 6:30pm sold out, so a 9:30pm show was added. What luck!
Saturday, Feb 20 – The Cave Singers / Current Swell at Neumos
EMP’s Sound Off! Semi-Finals these Saturdays in February – 2/13, 2/20, 2/27. I’ll be on the judges panel for Sound Off! Semi-Finals #3 on Feb 27 (more info coming soon). It would be so fun to see you there!
