Lucy Dacus

From our view, Lucy Dacus is is having a good year. Even though she wasn’t here with us for Valentine’s Day, July 4, Talk Like a Pirate Day, and she totally skipped your birthday – Lucy has decided to make it up to us by throwing a holiday party on a Tuesday (Oct 22) at Neumo’s.

Why? Throughout 2019 Lucy has been delighting us by spot-releasing singles:

  • The lovely honest “My Mother & I”, with the amazing line “They called me an ‘old soul’ when I was too young to know the difference between an old soul and a ghost” showed up for Mother’s Day
  • Her take on some loved/unexpected oldies such as “La Vie En Rose” for Valentine’s Day
  • Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” (a song her dad loved…and for the holiday known simply as Bruce Springsteen!)
  • Most recently, the spooky Phil Collins air-drumming fave “In the Air Tonight” for Halloween

This collection of songs are on her forthcoming EP 2019 (out on November 8—just in time for shopping season!). So let’s all go celebrate Lucy Dacus Day! We’re so excited. What should we bring?

The show with Liza Anne and Sun June is all ages and currently sold-out, so if you get offered one – TAKE IT!  Also, there’s a slightly promising note on the eventbrite site that reads:  Online sales have ended. Tickets may be available at the door! (more info)
