Paranormal Activity: FINALLY! I’ve been apprehensive about this because the hype has reached such huge proportions that I tend to think it will be a huge letdown for me. But, I gotta see it, so into the player it goes – and soon. If you haven’t heard about this for some reason: a couple thinks their house may be haunted, and so they set up a video camera to document activity while they sleep, with apparently terrifying results. The ad campaign for this spread faster than anything I’ve ever seen. Viral much?

9: I’ve heard that this isn’t that great from several people, but I have to give it a go because of Tim Burton’s involvement, and well, it does look kinda cool. Rag-doll robots skittering around, hiding from exterminators, voiced by John C Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover and Christopher Plummer? I could do without the thrash music in the trailer, but it looks like it’s definitely worth checking out.

United States of Tara, season 1: I only caught the pilot of this and didn’t really know what to think at the time, but upon a 2nd watch, I decided it was kind of brilliant. Toni Collette kills it as Tara, a wife & mom who has multiple personalities. The twist? Her family has learned to live with each one. Rosemarie Dewitt (from Mad Men) is pretty awesome as the disgruntled sister, too. I’m looking forward to checking out the rest of the season. And if you’re looking for some Diablo Cody wittiness, I’d recommend this over Jennifer’s Body any day. (FYI: this preview is SO not safe for work)
