Last night's Robyn Hitchcock & the Venus 3 show at the Crococile was insanely good. He did five — FIVE! — encores. So needless to say, I'm getting a slow and late start today.
But no matter, from the looks of the bill at the KEXP Audioasis showcase at the High Dive tonight, it's just as well. I'm glad I slept in and I need to go eat my Wheaties. Tonight is going to be another late night.
The KEXP Audioasis showcases should be submitted to the indie-rock olympics, they require so much stamina. With local Northwest bands starting at 6p and not ending till closing time, anyone who perseveres for the entire event deserves a medal. Tonight's lineup is particularly good, and all the $8 door goes to the local non-profit World Affairs Council. Rock for a good cause = A++ in my imaginary book.
I'm not 100% sure of the set order, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna go a little like this:
Playing early, live on KEXP's Audioasis:
- The Cops
- Coho
Playing the late show:
- Shake Some Action!
- The Hands
- The Whore Moans
- The Cops, part deux
Plan your evening accordingly!
{Also, it looks like you can still save a few pennies by ordering will call at Brown Paper Ticket.}
Though even as I type this, I see loads of other show-going tempations on tonight's calendar.
Where's everyone heading tonight?
