Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

I got caught in the snow storm on Friday while riding Metro around the city on errands, but I was happy, as I had Echo & The Bunnymen's "Porcupine" playing on my iPod, and a new copy of YETI (#5) just bought at Sonic Boom — which is selling it for the ridiculously low price of $8.99. Why should you own this squarebound, fancy-pants magazine too? If not for the incredible article on Blind Willie Johnson by publisher Mike McGonical, and the wonderful excerpts from Luc Sante's blog, or Erik Davis's great piece on P.G. Six, or possibly the best Will Oldham interview I've ever read — but at least for the 25 song free compact disc with every copy has four of Jeff Mangum's favorite 78s, and they're wonderful!

Magazines are getting worse or dropping like flies, but Mike has delivered the best issue of his beloved YETI yet …
