To celebrate its 100th birthday, Converse has announced what might be the cheesiest, tackiest attempt to stay relevant to hipsters , possibly ever: the dead-rocker collection.

Because over-paid NBA stars just don't sell kicks like they used to, Converse is turning to a new set of celebrities to name its shoes after: dead rock stars.

That whole Doc Martens dead-celebrity ad campaign was so well received, Converse will mark its 100th anniversary with a line of shoes named after dead rockers. The line will feature Chuck Taylors the feature the signatures and work of Kurt Cobain, Ian Curtis, Sid Vicious and rock journalist Hunter S. Thompson.

As if we all needed another reason to buy No Sweats.
