Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

It's awesome band tribute season here in Seattle, and tonight (Wednesday June 18th) the Tractor Tavern is hosting a tribute to two revered bands.

The double tribute night brings a vision that it could turn into a 'Battle of the Bands' (is it me or does a little competition make everything more interesting?) which could, perhaps, finally lay to rest late night drunken arguments of who's beloved is better at the art of the heartstring tugging, acoustic guitar feedback, angst ridden songcrafting duel between (in the right corner) Neutral Milk Hotel and (in the left) Uncle Tupelo.

I know (In the Aeroplane Over the Sea) who I'm (On Avery Island) favoring (Everything Is)… but when songs are turned into covers, you never know who's songs are going to come out on top. Hearing "Holland 1945" or "Up and Over" live, no matter who's playing, is sure to be magical.

What songs do you want to hear? And yes you can talk about Uncle Tupelo songs if you want.

The bands taking the stage include:

THE HARBORRATS
CREEPING TIME
PILLOW ARMY
THE X-RAY EYES
FLICKERING STARLET
SAMURAI BOW
THE THOUGHTS
JET LAG PLAM
BOXWOOD VESSEL
LITTLE BIRDS

The battle, um, show starts at 9p and it's only $6!

Who knows, perhaps someone will reinact this scene?
